Lady Dogs ‘make noise’ in Columbus, win state title

Morgan County softball coach Chad Pigg walked off the field Saturday in Columbus with a smile on his face.Pigg watched his players storm the field as his team secured an 8-3 victory over top-seed and reigning champion Appling County.

Lincoln County tames Tigers, win region title

Lincoln County secured the Class A Division II Region 8 championship last week with a win over Greene County. The No. 6 Red Devils defeated the No. 7 Tigers 43-20 behind a solid first-half performance and a strong finish.

Callaway tops Dogs in top-10 matchup for region title

Callaway defeated Morgan County in a contested top-10 matchup this past Friday to capture the Region 4-2A title.The Cavaliers held on late to win 33-26 at Callaway Stadium, while the Dogs suffered their first loss of the year.It was an exciting first half.

Gators win 48-8 to wrap up regular season

Gatewood celebrated Senior Night by wrapping up its 2024 regular season with a dominating 48-8 victory over the visiting Jaguars of Thomas Jefferson Academy out of Louisville. It marked the most points scored by Gatewood so far this season.

Georgia survives scare against Gators

Second-half surge sends Tigers past Titans

Greene County used a solid second-half effort to defeat crosstown rival Lake Oconee Academy 33-10 last Friday.With the score tied 7-7 at the half, the Tigers (7-1, 2-0) outscored the Titans (5-4, 0-3) 26-3 in the second half, overcoming a slow start and coasting to a crucial victory.

Dogs pound Pike, prep for potential perfect record

Morgan County will play for the region title and an undefeated season this Friday at Callaway after posting a dominating win over Pike County last week.The No. 2 Dogs pounded Pike County 41-5, thanks to a balanced offensive and defensive attack, which didn’t give up a touchdown.
