Lake Oconee Academy’s cross country teams recently ended their seasons with successful finishes at the state meet.LOA head coach Carina Baxley helped lead her teams to impressive top-five finishes at the state meet.

Tigers top Warren County to finish second in region

Greene County secured the No. 2 spot in the region standings last Friday with a 28-14 win over Warren County.However, the Tigers’ victory wasn’t easy. They used a late second-half surge to defeat the Screaming Devils.

Rebels upset, dominate Georgia

Ole Miss handed Georgia its second regular-season loss this year with a 28-10 victory on Saturday in Oxford. In a historic upset, the Rebels (8-2, 4-2) bogarted the Bulldogs (7-2, 5-2) in every facet of the game.“Yeah, first off, a lot of credit goes to Ole Miss. A great atmosphere.

Bulldogs hope to rebound against Vols

After losing to Ole Miss, Georgia hopes to rebound against Tennessee (8-1, 5-1) this Saturday at home in Sanford Stadium.The Volunteers come to Athens on a four-game winning streak, hoping to advance to the SEC Championship and then the College Football Playoff.

Lady Titans’ volleyball celebrates successful season

Lake Oconee Academy volleyball’s postseason run came to an end against Pepperell in the Elite Eight on Oct. 23, but the team still had a successful season.The Lady Titans knocked off and swept Bryan County and Rabun County before falling to Pepperell.

Washington-Wilkes ends Titans’ playoff hopes

‘Dogs draw battle-tested East Jackson in first round

Spike Dogs crowned Class 2A state champs

Coach Kathleen Goodwin knew her team could win the Class 2A state championship – and she was right as Morgan County volleyball defeated Savannah Arts Academy last Saturday in straight sets to capture the 2024 title.
