‘Dogs find positives, areas to improve after Cherokee Bluff scrimmage

There were plenty of things for Morgan County to like, and plenty to clean up after Friday night’s scrimmage against Cherokee Bluff.The Bulldogs didn’t get the start they wanted, falling behind 14-0 against a physical Class 5A team.

Gatewood softball off to solid start

Gatewood softball has turned a competitive start into a strong early-season run.The Gators entered Monday, Aug. 17, at 1-2 overall after dropping a pair of close games, but they left the day with a three-game winning streak and a 3-2 record.Gatewood opened the season Aug.

LOA volleyball finds rhythm after rough start

Dogs ready for final tuneup against Cherokee Bluff

Morgan County will get one final opportunity to test itself before the games begin to count.The Bulldogs travel to face Class 4A Cherokee Bluff on Aug. 13 for a preseason scrimmage, giving them a chance to experience a game-like atmosphere before opening the regular season Aug.

Preparation key to Gators’ early success

Gatewood is heading into the regular season with a little more confidence after using a pair of preseason scrimmages to identify weaknesses and make improvements. The Gators hosted Edmund Burke Academy on July 31, before facing Central Fellowship Christian Academy in Eatonton last Friday.

Lady Dogs making ‘positive signs’

Morgan County softball is currently underway in the 2026 season, with two games under its belt. The Dogs hosted Walnut Grove Aug. 6, securing a 10-1 victory over the Warriors, before taking the road to Prince Avenue Aug 10.
