Gatewood bats stay hot

The bats for Gatewood softball didn’t get rusty after a lopsided win over Trinity Christian in the season opener.The Lady Gators (3-1) scored 34 runs over the next three games, winning two and losing one.

New Greene coach sets new standards for Tigers

The Darius Robinson era at Greene County will officially begin Aug. 15 when the Tigers visit Putnam County.Previously an assistant at South Georgia powerhouse Valdosta, Robinson was hired as Greene’s new head coach to replace Terrance Banks, who is now at Central Gwinnett.

Greene senior QB ready to lead

Landon Garretson understands what it takes for a team to be successful.Garretson played his first two seasons of high school football at Class 5A’s Kell in Marietta. He then wanted a change of scenery and transferred to Greene County before the start of his junior year.

Commitment key to LOA's success in 2025

Lake Oconee Academy had a disappointing end to last season, losing five straight games and missing the playoffs after starting 5-0.In the offseason, the Titans lost key leaders like Ike O’Neal, Reid Davis, and Cam Kelley, and now seek younger players to fill those roles.

Titans to open season on the road

Lake Oconee Academy will open up its 2025 season against Mount Paran Christian this Friday on the road.The Titans scrimmaged Social Circle this past week and played well, tying the Redskins 14-14 when the varsity played. However, when the junior varsity squads came in, Social Circle edged LOA, 12-0.

Lady Titans playing together at start of season

The Lake Oconee Academy volleyball team started the season strong last week.The Lady Titans picked up four wins over East Jackson, Social Circle, George Walton Academy, and Frederica Academy. They were dominant and never lost a set in the first four matches of the season.
