Weather postpones Greene-Twiggs game

Putnam pounds Greene with ground game

Putnam County relied on a strong running game to defeat Greene County 42-15 in the season opener on Aug. 15.The War Eagles (1-0) had two running backs – senior Omarion Butts and sophomore Kumari – who made the biggest impact.

Dogs favored over War Eagles in rivalry game

Putnam County (1-0) and Morgan County (1-0) will renew their rivalry Friday night at Bill Corry Stadium in Madison. Last season, the Dogs defeated the War Eagles 42-28 in a shootout. Morgan is favored to win 48-16 this year, according to the Massey Ratings prediction by On3.com.

Balanced offense leads Morgan past Warren

Morgan County handled business in its season opener Aug. 16 against Warren County.The game was postponed from Friday to Saturday due to severe weather conditions, but that didn’t affect the Dogs (1-0) as they dominated the Screaming Devils 53-16 at Albert J. Massey Field.

Titans drop season opener to Mount Paran

Lake Oconee Academy opened its season last Friday with a 7-0 road loss to Mount Paran Christian.It was a storm-ridden week all across the state, and that hurt the Titans with their preparation for this game.

Morgan County faced off against Cherokee Bluff in a scrimmage on Aug. 7.The Dogs secured a 29-21 victory over the Bears in their home game at Bill Corry Stadium.Morgan County head coach Clint Jenkins was happy with the Dogs’ performance in the team’s preseason contest.
