Titans conquer Spartans in home opener

Lake Oconee Academy had its first home game of the season on Sept. 12, hosting Glenn Hills in Greensboro.The Titans beat the Spartans 49-6 and finished the first half of the season with a 2-3 overall record.

'Dogs use team effort to defeat Jags

Morgan County relied on a team effort to beat Cedar Shoals 46-20 on Sept. 12 during its homecoming game.The Dogs (5-0) made plays in all three phases – offense, defense, and special teams – to dominate the Jaguars.Early on, their offense took control, scoring on their first six possessions.

Dawgs overcome offensive woes to defeat Austin Peay

Georgia defeated FCS foe Austin Peay 28-6 on Sept. 6 in a game that included a two-hour lightning delay.The Bulldogs overcame a sloppy performance on offense to beat the Governors.

Georgia to face high-powered Vols offense

Brentwood handed Lake Oconee Academy its worst loss of the season this past week.The War Eagles of Sandersville shut out the Titans 43-0 on their home field.LOA head coach Patrick Stewart was frustrated with his team’s performance after the game.

Morgan County (4-0) used an explosive offensive attack to defeat rival Greene County (0-3) on Sept. 3.The Dogs easily dominated the Tigers 63-20, as they put up 407 yards of total offense.Morgan County head coach Clint Jenkins believes the team had an overall great night on the road.

Lady Dogs hold their own without star pitcher

The Morgan County softball team has faced a few ups and downs so far this season.The Lady Dogs lost star pitcher Ryleigh Hilsman to an injury earlier this season, and she hasn’t returned, but they’ve managed to hold their own without her, despite facing some tough competition so far.

Stockton leads Georgia past Marshall in opener

 Georgia easily defeated Marshall in its season opener on Saturday, largely due to the performance of quarterback Gunner Stockton.In his first start at Sanford Stadium for the No. 4 Bulldogs, Stockton scored four touchdowns in the lopsided 45-7 victory.
