The Morgan County Softball team recently earned its spot in Columbus for the Class 2A Elite Eight, aiming to defend its 2024 state championship.The Lady Dogs dominated their second-round playoff series against Hart County on Oct. 22, sweeping the series 12-0 and 14-0.

Morgan County volleyball is headed back to the state championship match after a huge win on Saturday.The Spike Dogs defeated Savannah Arts Academy 3-1 (25-13; 18-25; 25-17; 25-20) in a rematch of last season’s state title.

The Morgan County softball team (18-8) took care of business in the first round of the state playoffs last week.The No. 3 seed Spike Dogs swept No. 30 Tattnall County, winning 12-0 and 14-2 to advance to the next round.
