Dawgs return to New Orleans for Sugar Bowl

With their SEC Championship win last Saturday over the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Georgia Bulldogs claimed their spot as the No. 3 seed in the 2025 College Football Playoffs.The back-to-back conference champions will return to New Orleans for the New Year’s Day Allstate Sugar Bowl.

Morgan softball earns All-Region honors

The Morgan County High School softball team recently had several players earn All-Region honors.One Lady Dog player earned an individual award, nine were named to the All-Region team, and one garnered honorable mention. Third-year head coach Chad Pigg also received a prestigious postseason honor.

Gatewood football wraps up season with awards banquet

The Gatewood Gators’ football season officially came to a close last Wednesday evening with the annual postseason banquet at the Eatonton-based school. The event offered a mix of pride and perspective, as head coach Jeff Ratliff reflected on his team’s 2025 campaign and handed out year-end awards.

War Eagles rack up All-Region honors

It was recently announced that several players on the Putnam County football team received All-Region honors.The War Eagles had one player earn an individual award, 12 players named to the All-Region team, and four players garnering honorable mentions.

Dogs looking to take next step in 2025-26

The Morgan County boys basketball team had one of its better seasons in recent memory last year.The Dogs finished their 2024-25 campaign with a 22-7 overall record, including a 10-0 mark in region play.

Defense leads Dawgs over Georgia Tech

Tigers have high expectations after turnover

Greene County is coming off one of its best seasons in program history.The Tigers won a region championship, entered the state playoffs as a No. 1 seed, and reached the semifinals before losing to eventual runner-up McIntosh County Academy, finishing with a 22-8 record.
