Swim Dogs host home meet; boys win gold

The Morgan County swimming and diving team hosted its first and only home meet of the season on Jan. 16.The boys brought home the gold, while the combined teams earned a second-place overall finish.

Former Greene County standout finds next college home

After entering the NCAA transfer portal a few weeks ago, former USC defensive back and Greene County multi-sport star athlete Steve Miller found his new college home on Monday, according to a report by On3.com.

Gatewood girls trending in ‘right direction’

Gatewood had a strong start to the regular season, ending the first part of its schedule with a 10-1 overall record.Last season, the Lady Gators finished 11-14 overall in head coach Ferdinand Farley’s first year at the helm.

Mat Dogs crowned Area 4-AA champs

Morgan County’s wrestling team recently wrapped up its regular season by winning the Area 4-AA duals meet. The Mat Dogs hosted Glen Hills and Burke County in Madison on Jan. 10 at the school’s competition gym.

Rebels get redemption over Dawgs in Sugar Bowl

NEW ORLEANS – The Allstate Sugar Bowl wasn’t sweet to Georgia for a second consecutive year, as the No. 3 Bulldogs lost to No. 6 Ole Miss 39-34 in the CFP quarterfinal matchup Jan. 1 at the Caesars Superdome.
