BASKETBALL: Tigers’ defense helps topple Titans on the road

The Greene County boys’ basketball team got back on the right track by beating a region rival last Friday night to start the new year. The Tigers traveled to Lake Oconee Academy for their first region game of 2023 and defeated the Titans 47-37.

BASKETBALL: Lady Titans defend home court against Tigers

The Lake Oconee Academy girls’ basketball team defended its home court last Friday night when region rivals Greene County came across town to the Titans’ gymnasium.

BASKETBALL: Dogs, Lady Dogs begin region play

The Morgan County boys’ and girls’ basketball teams began Region 4-AAA play last week. After going 2-1 at the Chuck Miller Classic over the Christmas break, the Bulldogs fell to the Academy of Richmond County (ARC) 59-54 on Friday evening in Augusta.

BASKETBALL: 'Dogs have successful outing at Chuck Miller Classic

Morgan County boys’ basketball competed in the Chuck Miller Classic over the holiday break. The Bulldogs went 2-1 in the tournament, which was held at McDonough High School. Morgan County first faced Class 4A’s Stone Mountain (1-7) last Tuesday.

BASKETBALL: Titans’ middle school team wins league championship

When looking at the school’s basketball program as a whole, Lake Oconee Academy has seen great development at every level since starting in 2016. Most importantly, the Titans’ coaching staff has started to play a role in player development at the middle school level.

BASKETBALL: Lady Dogs cruise into new year with confidence

The Morgan County girls’ basketball team ended the 2022 part of its schedule on a high note. The Lady Dogs (9-3) competed in the Chuck Miller Classic last week and went 3-0 in the tournament. Morgan County head coach Milfred Franklin is starting to see the pieces come together.

Do you believe in magic? Well, I definitely do after last weekend. As the clock struck midnight to roll the world into a new year, I was on the sideline at Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the Peach Bowl, and if you watched the game, you know what I’m talking about.

BASKETBALL: Lady Titans down Screaming Eagles in first game of 2023

The Lake Oconee Academy girls’ basketball team improved to 11-1 and 2-0 in region play after defeating the Warren County Screaming Eagles 64-55 at home this past Tuesday. The Lady Titans were able to put together a solid offensive performance after starting the game off on a positive note.
