Lady ‘Dogs begin first season under new coach

The Morgan County softball team kicked off its season Tuesday with a new head coach in Chad Pigg. Pigg was previously the head coach at Harris County and comes in with a wealth of knowledge and experience. He was hired by Morgan County Director of Athletics Doug Connelly in late June.

Area teams handle the heat wave

As Lake Country football teams begin fall camp, coaches and players have to be cautious with this summer’s blistering heat. Programs will have to follow new Georgia High School Association (GHSA) protocols on heat and humidity.

Experienced pitching duo to lead Lady Titans in 2023

Since June 12th, the Lake Oconee Academy softball team has been hitting the diamond about three times a week in preparation for the 2023 season. The Lady Titans recently had their first scrimmage game against Putnam County earlier last week.

Area football teams get acclimated for season

At the beginning of the week, all three Lake Country football teams – Morgan County, Greene County and Lake Oconee Academy – began the state-mandated acclimation week.

Bethea named Morgan County's new defense coordinator

Morgan County football head coach Clint Jenkins recently promoted David Bethea to become the team’s new defensive coordinator after serving since 2021 as the defensive backs coach.
