In a game that went down to the wire, Lake Oconee Academy ultimately came up short against Clinch County in its attempt to repeat as state champions.
The Lady Panthers held on and defeated the Lady Titans 45-42 as senior Hannah Heinen's desperation 3-point attempt fell short of the basket.
Lake Oconee Academy led Clinch County 36-30 heading into the fourth quarter, but the Lady Panthers took over in the final eight minutes. They outscored the Lady Titans 15-6 in the final period of regulation to secure the win.
Clinch County was led by junior Tyana Dorsey. The Lady Panthers' power forward registered a double-double by scoring 19 points and grabbing 20 rebounds.
Lake Oconee Academy was led by seniors Jada Williams (16 points) and Heinen (10) points. Lady Titans' junior Georgia Bosart added eight points.
