Greensboro, Ga.  – The team of Pat Narduzzi and Chan Gailey carded a rock-solid round, including birdies on holes 16 through 18, to win the 2023 Southern Company Peach Bowl Challenge and $32,500 each for their respective charities.

The nation’s premier collegiate coach golf event featured a field of 18 current and former college football coaches, playing in nine two-man teams, competing for a share of a $300,000 charity purse.

The tournament was held today at Reynolds Lake Oconee outside Atlanta and was played over 18 holes using Stableford scoring.

Pairings were determined by balancing handicaps between teams.

The duo of Narduzzi and Gailey finished with a combined score of 44 points to overtake the teams of Dabo Swinney and Paul Johnson, Dino Babers and Rick Neuheisel, respectively tied for second place with a final score of 42.

Narduzzi and Gailey tallied six total birdies on the day and an eagle on the fourth hole to take home their first-ever Southern Company Peach Bowl Challenge title.

Narduzzi has now won a total of $137,500 in the event’s history, while Gailey has taken home $87,500 all-time for his charities.

“When you have a great partner, that makes it easy. Chan putted like crazy and came up with a gigantic putt on 18, and just knocked it down for us,” said Narduzzi. “We finished strong though, and that is what a good team does, finish strong.”

“It was fun, we had a good time, and it’s all for great charities, and that is what we are excited about,” added Gailey.

With this year’s $300,000 charity purse, the Southern Company Peach Bowl Challenge has now contributed a total of $9.3 million in scholarship and charity since 2007, helping make Peach Bowl, Inc. college football’s most charitable bowl organization. Proceeds from the event benefit charitable foundations selected by the coaches.
