Toni Mae (LaBarbera) Waeghe, 81, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, in Griffin, Georgia.
She was born Dec. 16, 1944, in Mt. Morris, New York, to Geraldine and Charles LaBarbera.
Toni lived a full and vibrant life, defined by her adventurous spirit, warmth, and deep love for family and friends. She attended Rochester Business Institute and carried a strong work ethic and passion for connection throughout her life.
A successful businesswoman, Toni’s career included positions with Rochester Telephone, Rotelcom, Motorola, Continental Bank, IBM, and AT&T.
Her dedication to service matched her professional accomplishments. She served as president of several volunteer organizations, including St. Vincent de Paul, Plantation Ladies Club, and the Reynolds Ladies Golf Association. She was also active with Welcome Wagon and the American Women’s Association.
While living abroad in Hong Kong — one of the 12 cities she called home — Toni volunteered at a Chinese orphanage, reflecting her generous spirit and global outlook.
Toni embraced life with enthusiasm and style. She enjoyed gardening, golfing, dancing, fashion, and spending time with her beloved dogs and cherished circle of friends. Her infectious smile, kind nature, and zest for fun left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Ronald Waeghe; her children, Traci Messier (Christian), Karon Willmes (Bob), and Blayne Waeghe (Jennifer); her brother, Dr. Michael LaBarbera (Margaret Hivnor); eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to Eternal Hope Hospice in Griffin.
Toni will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. Her light touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed.
