Suzanne Jean Smead Schumacher of Eatonton, Georgia, died Saturday, October 7, 2023. Born in Canton, Ohio on August 28, 1944, she was the daughter of the late James Lewis and Vera L. Laird Smead.
She graduated from Perry High School and was also a graduate of Kent State University.
On March 6, 1991, she married Kent Gregory Schumacher. Suzanne was a flight attendant with US Airways for 18 years, retiring in 2003.
She attended Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church and volunteered with Guardian Ad Litem and First Call Pregnancy Center. Her hobbies included gardening, swimming, water and snow skiing and hiking.

Schumacher Suzanne is survived by her daughters, Michele (Dave) McKee, Saint Johns, FL, and Kayla Schumacher, Florence SC; sons; Rich (Karen) Kocher, Paris, OH, Matt (Julie) Kocher, Jacksonville FL; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Kenny Kreger.
In addition to her parents, Suzanne is preceded in death by her sisters Carolyn Kreger, Marilyn Altimore, and her husband Wilbur Altimore, and Alyce Elaine Yoder and her husband Earl Yoder.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at the Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church, 113 Scott Road, Eatonton, GA 31024 with Rev. Jeff Birch officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service with a reception following the memorial service. Memorials can be made to First Call Pregnancy Center 1531 W.
