Stephen Walden Cole

Stephen Walden “Steve” Cole, 73, of Greensboro, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Eatonton Health and Rehabilitation.

Steve was born Aug. 3, 1952, in Atlanta to the late Joann Peters Cole and Thomas Donald Cole. He grew up in Atlanta and graduated from Gordon High School in Decatur. On Sept. 13, 1977, he married Susan Denise Baggett.

Steve spent his career with Upjohn Pharmacy, where he worked as a supervisor until his retirement. After retiring, he and Susan moved from Gwinnett County to Greensboro.

An avid outdoorsman, Steve enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also played golf in his younger years and had a passion for collecting firearms. He was a devoted fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Falcons, and Atlanta Braves. Above all, he cherished time spent with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Susan Cole of Greensboro; two daughters, Kriston Marie Cole and Fallon Denise Cole (Cliff Johnson); his brother, Thomas Wayne Cole; and two grandchildren, Riley Denise Johnson and Blake Thomas Maready. Other relatives and many friends also survive him.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Lake Oconee Bistro, 1130 Lake Oconee Parkway, Eatonton.
