Noreen Egan Leach

Noreen Egan Leach, a beloved resident of Eatonton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, April 27, 2026, at the age of 77, with her devoted husband of 56 years by her side.

Born in Troy, New York, on March 2, 1949, Noreen was the daughter of the late John Francis Egan and Artimise Serfilipe Egan. She was a proud graduate of Catholic Central High School, Class of 1966. She continued her education at the State University of New York at Cobleskill, where she studied food science and nutrition from September 1966 to June 1968, and then earned her bachelor’s degree from State University College in Buffalo, New York, in 1970.

On September 11, 1971, she married Gerry Leach. Throughout her professional career, Noreen worked as a registered dietitian, beginning at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and later serving at Yale New Haven Hospital, Gwinnett Medical Center, and Emory University, retiring in 2011 at the age of 62. Following her retirement, she accompanied her husband throughout his career before they settled in Eatonton, Georgia.

Noreen was a devoted member of Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, where she faithfully served as both an usher and an Eucharistic Minister. She also enjoyed traveling extensively in her retirement years.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gerry Leach of Eatonton, Georgia; her siblings, John Egan and his wife, Nancy, of Louisville, Kentucky; Patricia McSorley of Pompton Plains, New Jersey; and Mary Ann Conlon and her husband, Stuart, of Louisville, Kentucky; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Anthony McSorley.

A Funeral Mass was held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, Georgia 30642, with Father Adam Blatt officiating. A reception followed in the social hall.

Instead of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church or the St. Vincent de Paul Society, both located at 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, Georgia 30642.
