Michael Kirlin Lewis

Michael Kirlin Lewis, 81, of Eatonton, Ga., entered into eternal life surrounded by family.

Born in Topeka, Ks. On February 3, 1943, the son of Jesse Bernard Lewis and Mary Margaret Lewis. 

He is survived by his partner and soulmate of 31 years, Janet Parks Lewis, and his children Thomas (Bridget) Lewis, Jill (Kelly) Hild, Joe (Christine) Rodriguez, Andrew (Danyelle) Rodriguez, and Michael Lewis. His sisters, Kathy Carriere and Peggy Lewis, along with eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Mary, and his sisters, Kristine and Judy. 

Mike graduated from Lillis High School in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1961. He was active in many sports, including basketball, football, and track. 

He went on to attend Rockhurst University, where he received his undergraduate degree and later received his Master's in Business Administration. Mike was a veteran of the Army National Guard of Missouri from 1964 to 1970. Mike had a 41-year career in the airline industry. 

He began with TWA and later became Director of Worldwide Operations at Worldspan. In his spare time, Mike loved spending time with his family, fishing, and playing golf.

His love for his dogs, Bar-B-Que (especially Arthur Bryants), and the Kansas City Chiefs ran deep. Visitation was held from 5 PM to 7 PM on July 19, 2024, at Williams Funeral Home in Milledgeville, Ga. Funeral services were conducted at 10 AM on Saturday, July 20, 2024, in the Milledgeville 1st Methodist Church, with Rev. Mac Enfinger officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the American Lung Association or Lake Oconee Humane Society.
