MACON - Lake Oconee Academy won the Class A Division II state championship with a thrilling victory over Atkinson County on May 15 at Mercer University's Five-Star Stadium.
The Titans defeated the Rebels 3-1 in double overtime to capture their first title in program history.
The score was tied at 1-1 at the end of regulation, so Lake Oconee Academy and Atkinson County resumed play in overtime, where the Titans scored two goals to claim the championship. They had an incredible postseason run, defeating Mt. Zion (Carrollton), Mt. Zion (Jonesboro), Dooly County, and Trion to reach the state title game.
The win capped off an incredible season for Lake Oconee Academy, which finished the 2025 season with a 17-3 overall record. The Titans also ended the year on a 12-game winning streak.
