Sandra Mauldin

Sandra Roland Mauldin of Greensboro, formerly of Union Point, GA, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at her daughter’s home with her family that she loved so much.

Born June 13, 1941, to the late Sidney Lanier Roland, Sr. and Susie Mae Moody Roland, she grew up in Union Point and graduated from Union Point High School.

Sandra loved playing basketball throughout high school and enjoyed being active in her church. Like many in the Roland family, Sandra loved music and loved singing.

She was a member of the gospel group, “The Woodville Five”, where she sang and played the tambourine. The group traveled around to sing at local churches and were well loved. Sandra was a Service Officer with the Georgia Department of Veterans Service for over 50 years and was always accommodating and very helpful with veterans’ affairs. Sandra was currently a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Greshamville and grew up as a member of the First Baptist Church of Union Point. She was also a member at Woodville Baptist Church for many years, serving as a Sunday school teacher and leading many other activities during her years there.

Sandra most enjoyed spending time with her beloved family. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and loved cheering them on in all their sports and extracurricular activities.

Survivors include her daughters, Diana Mauldin Crumbley (Haywood) and Sherri Mauldin (Dean); grandchildren, Chase Crumbley and Jill Crumbley; her brother, Billy Roland; and her sister, Sherryle Roland Hinton. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Sidney Lanier Roland, Jr., Rev.

Edgar Eugene “Eddie” Roland and Daniel “Danny” Thomas Roland.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, March 22, 2025, at noon at the Union Point First Baptist Church, 206 Thornton Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Mike Pritchett and Patrick Tice officiating.

The family received friends from 11:00 a.m. until time for the service at the church. Interment followed in the Greenlawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Brent Roland, Scott Roland, Ben Hinton, Matt Daniels, J.D. Daniels, and Jarrett Daniels.
