Washington D.C. isn’t the only place where the books are being scrutinized.
Following an investigation that lasted five months, a Madison woman has been arrested on allegations she stole more than $350,000 from Solid Site Services and Solid Paving and Concrete from January of 2023 to August of 2024 while employed there as the office manager.
Leeann Miles, 38, is facing two counts of theft by taking more than $25,000, two counts of breach of fiduciary duties, and eight counts of transaction card fraud.
Miles turned herself in at the Morgan County jail on March 6 and was released on a $50,000 bond the following day.
Investigator Wes Thompson of the Madison Police Department said the company located off Eatonton Road was alerted to accounting problems after a couple of vendors were not paid.
The resulting examination of the books led to the investigation and arrest.
