Mark Blanton, Greene County’s new District 4 commissioner, said he is excited to serve and plans to foster open communication with the entire county.
“I certainly want to be an advocate for the folks in District 4 on important issues, and I want to seek their input actively. I also want to invite Greene County citizens to help me keep the lines of communication open about the issues and opportunities that face us in the future,” he shared.
The owner of Greensboro Jewelers said he has the experience needed to build those connections with citizens.
“As the owner and operator of a small business, I know the positive impact of working hard and being responsible to your customers and your employees," Blanton explained. "I’ve also held positions of leadership in the Greensboro business community that have prepared me to build alliances, collaborate, and align and achieve common goals."
As a top priority, Blanton urged commissioners to be strategic concerning future growth and development to maintain and enhance the quality of life for citizens.
Blanton also acknowledged his priority to fight for the courthouse: “One of my campaign promises was ensuring that the Greene County Courthouse in downtown Greensboro continues doing the county’s judicial business as it has for the last 175 years. I’ll continue to work hard on that.”
