Bread of Life Food Pantry benefits from PGH donations

September was Hunger Action Month, a nationwide effort to raise awareness about hunger in America. This event inspired employees of Putnam General Hospital to collect food and other items to donate to The Bread of Life Food Pantry in Eatonton, an outreach ministry of Lake Oconee Lutheran Church.

“The Bread of Life Pantry operating module is simple: collect and purchase nonperishable food items and distribute them,” PGH staffer Beth Etheridge said. “The pantry operates through donations from individuals, businesses, organizations, and volunteers. At the Bread of Life Pantry, our doors are open to everyone,” Etheridge continued.

“If hunger is an issue or you have limited food access, you are welcome here. We cater to children, seniors, working families, and individuals facing hardships due to unforeseen circumstances such as job loss or illness. No one in our community should go hungry; we are here to help.”
