Dual Vision presents art through different eyes

The eighth annual Dual Vision: Art Through Different Eyes show opens with a reception this Thursday, from 5-7:30 p.m., at Barrel 118 (118 N. Jefferson Ave., Eatonton). The exhibit will also be available for viewing on Friday and Saturday.

The opening reception is free and open to the public. Complimentary wine and refreshments will be served. All attendees will also have the chance to vote for People’s Choice in both photos and artwork.

This marks the 8th year for The Artisan Village Guild show, an annual collaboration between members of the Artisan Village Guild and photographers from the recently renamed Lake Country Photo Club (previously Lake Oconee Photo Club).

Artists create new pieces inspired by photos selected earlier this year from LCPC submissions for a side-by-side exhibition that showcases both halves of the creative process. This year, 77 Guild members selected 128 photos from 19 photographers to present 256 total pieces in the show.

The show will remain available from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 20, with a special Dual Vision Craft Cocktail event also scheduled for 5-8 p.m. Friday in the new Barrel 118 Backstage Lounge. During Happy Hour, guests will be able to watch the Backstage Lounge mixologist create cocktails inspired by famous works of art while at least one artist paints live.

Saturday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. presents the final opportunity to see the Dual Vision presentation at Barrel 118 before it is moved to The Artisans Village Gallery (110 W. Marion St., Eatonton) for viewing through October.
