Reynolds Lake Oconee, in collaboration with the Oconee Performing Arts Society (OPAS), will present the 7th annual Rhythm & Brews Festival on Friday, Oct. 25. The festival will be headlined by the explosive southern rock band 38 Special.
For more than four decades, 38 Special has been bringing its signature sound to more than 100 cities a year, featuring big hits including “Hold On Loosely,” “Rockin’ Into the Night,” “Caught Up in You,” and “Fantasy Girl.” The band has sold over 20 million records, including multiple gold and platinum albums.
“We never wanted to be one of those bands that had maybe gotten a little soft or complacent over the years,” guitarist/vocalist Don Barnes said of the intensity that remains in 38 Special’s live shows. “We’re a team, and it’s always been kind of an unspoken rule that we don’t slack up, we stack up. We go out there every night to win.”
Other band members include bassist Barry Dunaway, drummer Gary Moffatt, and keyboardist/ vocalist Bobby Capps. The most recent addition to the band is virtuoso guitarist and vocalist Jerry Riggs.
“With a great musical lineup, plus more tasting and food options than ever before, this year’s Rhythm & Brews Festival is the can’t-miss music event of the fall,” Reynolds Lake Oconee COO Tim Hong declared.
This year’s Rhythm & Brews event will begin at 5 p.m. at Reynolds Lake Oconee’s picturesque Sandy Creek Barn. Alongside great music, from 5-7 p.m., the festival will have a complimentary beer and wine garden, with more than 30 hand-crafted selections available for tasting.
Food options will also be available from 5 p.m. through the event’s duration. General admission is $150 and includes access to the craft beer and wine tasting, concert, and on-site parking. Guests must be 21 and older.
For guests seeking the ultimate Rhythm & Brews experience, VIP tickets are available for $350 and include general admission access plus exclusive VIP amenities, including a hospitality suite, complimentary offerings from a variety of food trucks, dedicated on-site parking, privately hosted bars, and a special viewing area during the concert.
