MAGallery presents annual members exhibition

MAGallery has announced its 2024 Annual Members Exhibition, It Figures, which will open 6-8 p.m. on July 26 with a meet-and-greet session featuring several of the 20 artists who submitted approximately 40 artworks to the show.

In addition to catching the show on opening night and mingling with the artists, visitors will enjoy catered bites by Harvest & Honey and live music. The exhibition will run through Aug. 31, and all works will be for sale. It Figures is sponsored by Main Street Vet in Madison.

To qualify for It Figures, artists were challenged to interpret the meaning of the word “figure” using 2-D and 3-D media. While most artists chose the human figure as their subject, the interpretations will surprise and delight, as will the media, which includes sculptures, shadow boxes, pottery, paintings, and mixed media.

Participating artists include Karen Arthur, Karen Blakeney, Frank Cassara, Elizabeth Collins Hanes, Chris Cook, Ann Dodys, Tom Gonzalez, Michelle Kent, Rita Knight, Nancy Jeannette Long, Sondra Madison, Lauren Martin, Mark Nelson, Chuong Pham, Amy Pickens, Courtnie Prophett, Betsy Rose, Maria Sine, Deborah Stickney, and Dana Thompson.

MAGallery, a retail art gallery, hosts rotating exhibitions of established and emerging artists like those in It Figures and showcases the original work of local and regional artists and authors. MAGallery is open Monday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Madison Artists Guild is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to the education and encouragement of artistic endeavors. It supports local artists and their talents through MAGallery. For more information, visit TheMadisonArtists-Guild.org or call 706-342-9360.
