Fight breaks out at football game

According to reports, a fight broke out in the home stands during the Morgan County-Social Circle football game on Sept. 15.

Deputy Kevin Beriskos observed a crowd of highly animated people standing around as if a fight had occurred and saw a 17-year-old Social Circle girl who was sitting in a chair bleeding from her knees, according to the report. The girl’s sister was also upset and being escorted away from the scene by a male.

Berisko also learned that the fight stemmed from an incident at a previous football game and that the Morgan County High School Assistant Principal Greg Thompson had told two of the girls not to come to the Sept. 15 game, but the girls came anyway.

Berisko was also able to learn that a fight had occurred between two females who fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.

Anonymous videos of the fight were recovered. Berisko said several high school students from both Morgan County and Social Circle were involved in the altercation.

Four juvenile students will be charged with affray. Warrants for two other students charging them with affray have also been issued.
