Mocha House concludes live local acts series

PUTNAM COUNTY

The final Mocha House fundraiser of the year, the largest of the Coffee House series, was presented late last month by The Plaza Arts Center and The Arts Barn.

It featured 23 acts, 20 performers, and a packed house with performers of all ages represented, from actors as young as seven-years-old to high school students to grandparents.

The money raised from the sale of coffee and other concessions went directly to funding The Plaza Arts Center’s and The Arts Barn’s Summer Broadway Intensive.

This season, each Coffee House event (Coffee Houses, Cocoa Houses, and Mocha Houses) was hosted at different locations throughout Greene and Putnam counties. The final event of the series ended right where it started, at The Plaza Arts Center, but this time on the stage.

It was a great way to end the series with so many fantastic performances, including beautiful Broadway ballads, a Taylor Swift song, a skit from The Arts Barn Kids, a visit from Kazooplaying pirates, and everything in between.

It was a fantastic night with wonderful people, entertainment, and concessions, and a great way to close out the Coffee House season. The next item on the docket for The Arts Barn and Plaza Arts Center collaborative is Camp Broadway, a theatre camp for kids. For more information, visit online to plazacenter.org or theartsbarn.net.
