Madison-Morgan Chamber president to step down July 1

MORGAN COUNTY

The longtime president of the Madison-Morgan Chamber of Commerce, Bob Hughes, recently announced he is stepping down after 12 years on the job.

The Board of Directors for the Chamber of Commerce voted to accept Hughes’ resignation after due consideration, effective July 1, 2023. The Board has appointed Shey Daniel to serve as interim President until Hughes’ departure on July 1.

“Bob has performed admirably in the role as President and will be greatly missed,” said Alan Ludlow, chairman of the Board of Directors. “He will work directly with Shey as she assumes all of the presidential duties.”

Hughes joined the Chamber in 2006 as the Director of Economic Development and will continue performing Economic Development activities until such a time as he desires to retire from that role.

“It has been an honor to serve our business community over the years,” said Hughes. “Madison is a thriving town and I am leaving our members in good hands with Shey.”

Daniel began her career with the Chamber in 2004 and has risen through the ranks, performing all of the daily functions of the chamber, most recently serving as Vice-President under Hughes.

“I am excited to carry on the progress the Chamber has made under Bob’s leadership and continue serving our local businesses by promoting the total economic development of Madison and Morgan County,” said Daniel.
