Teenager shot and killed in Madison, no suspects yet

One victim is dead, and another is hospitalized in intensive care after a shooting on Madison’s Morgan Circle on the evening of March 8.

According to Madison Assistant Police Chief Colin Campbell, officers were dispatched to the Morgan Circle address at approximately 7:50 p.m.

One of the shooting victims, 17-year-old Kingsley Gibbs, was pronounced dead at the Morgan Medical Center after being transported there in a private vehicle.

Imunn Sandford, also 17, was transported to Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has joined the Madison Police Department to probe the circumstances involved in the shooting.

Campbell said detectives were up most of the night working the case and returned to their investigation after a couple of hours of sleep on the morning of March 9.

Campbell said detectives are pursuing a number of promising leads.

Detective Andre Johnson said, as of March 14, no new information on the case was available, but interviews conducted by the GBI and the Madison Police were ongoing as the investigation continues.
