GREENE COUNTY
An 18-year-old Greene County man was arrested on several charges related to what was described as an inappropriate relationship between him and a juvenile female, according to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
Jermontay Devon Kendrick of Union Point has been charged with child molestation, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, enticing a child for indecent purposes, and obstruction or hindering law enforcement officers.
According to a press release issued by Sgt. Pete Finch of the GCSO, deputies was called to Siloam regarding someone discharging a firearm at potential trespassers. While Sgt. Josh Wilson was on his way, dispatch informed him that the male subjects running from the gunfire were lost in the woods and were on the phone with the 911 center.
When Wilson arrived, he met with the wife of the learned he left the residence in his truck to pursue possible trespassers. The husband, later identified as Stacey Jack Bradley, soon returned to the residence and told Wilson he saw two unidentified subjects come onto his property.
Unsure of what the trespassers were up to, he discharged several rounds into the air in order to scare them off.
Bradley said the two subjects ran into the woods, and he got into his truck to chase them. Wilson located two pistols in Bradley’s truck that he said he had taken with him as he pursued the two subjects.
According to the press release, Wilson was able to locate the two feeling males by using his siren to guide them out of the woods. One was a 15-year-old juvenile and the other was identified as Kendrick.
Witnesses told Wilson that the two male subjects were running from the direction of a neighbor’s house and that they believed that the subjects had been inside a neighbor’s house possibly with a neighbor’s juvenile daughter.
Bradley was arrested on the charge of reckless conduct for discharging his firearm relatively close to adjacent houses, but the ensuing investigation determined that Kendrick had “inappropriate relations with the neighbor’s juvenile daughter,” according to the press release.
Kendrick was then arrested as well and transported to the Greene County jail.
