Three women were arrested by Madison police officers after the trio allegedly attacked two postal workers at the Madison post office on Sept 4.
Cacedra Yvette Robinson, 50, of Atlanta was charged with battery. Creyadda Nyphshya Lachee Robertson, 29, of Bostwick charged with two counts of battery and criminal trespass. Rekeisha Lavette Newkirk, 38, of Lithonia was also charged with battery.
According to reports, Officer Emily Eaton was sent to the post office just after noon in reference to a fight in progress with Morgan County dispatch advising Eaton that three individuals were “jumping” the postmaster.
Upon arrival, Eaton met with postmaster Laura Spencer who told her that one of her attackers was leaving in a black Honda. Eaton performed at traffic on the Honda and detained Robertson.
The postmaster later told police that she had fired Robertson on the date of the incident.
Sgt. Jeremy Hoffman and Officer Blake Rowe interviewed witnesses and reviewed a video of the incident.
Spencer said Natia Alexandra Johnson was called in to work Robertson’s route when she did not wish to work it, according to the report.
Johnson told police that Robertson, Newkirk and Robinson were following her in a maroon Kia Sorento while she did the route in her post office truck.
She called Spencer who told her to wait until she arrived at the post office before exiting her mail vehicle.
When the women arrived at the post office, Johnson said Robertson began punching Spencer in the face.
Eaton said she observed injuries to Spencer’s face, lip and right arm.
Johnson said the trio approached her vehicle and pulled her out of it. According to the report, they began to pull her hair and broke her glasses and cell phone.
Eaton said she observed an injury to Johnson’s nose. A video was provided to Eaton which showed Robertson punching Spencer in the face according to the report.
All three were taken to the Morgan County jail and the postmaster asked that all three be trespassed from the post office.
