Antavion J. Thompson, 18, was charged with trafficking in cocaine and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

According to reports, Deputy Bo Kelly performed the traffic stop and reported that the occupants were moving around rapidly in the vehicle while it pulled to the side of the road.

When Kelley made contact with the driver, later identified as Anthony Wayne Thompson, he said he smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Thompson did not have his driver’s license with him, so he was detained until the situation could be sorted out.

Kelley asked the three men sitting in the back seat if there was any pot in the vehicle and Muckle told him there was.

All three were removed from the car and detained.

When Kelly frisked Lumpkin, he found a FN 5.7mm pistol stuffed into his pants. Muckle then told Kelly he had a pistol under the driver’s seat.

Kelly found Muckle’s pistol during the subsequent search. A check of serial numbers revealed that parts of the weapon were stolen from Oconee County and other parts from Clarke County.

Kelly then located a suspected bag of pot under the under the driver’s seat and another in the console along with a set of digital scales.

Kelly reported that he found two more bags of suspected marijuana under the passenger seat.

Kelly continued his search and found a large bag containing several 1-pound bags of pot and two 1 oz. bags of cocaine in the trunk area.

Muckle said he knew nothing of the items in the trunk.

All four individuals were turned over to jail staff.
