MORGAN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to an Atlanta Highway address May 25 in reference to a domestic dispute. Due to conflicting statements, a warrant hearing will be scheduled.

A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a Fractions Bottom Road address May 25 in reference to a domestic dispute. The complainant said her ex-boyfriend slapped her phone out of her hand and poured a drink down her back. The complainant asked about obtaining a TPO.

A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a Davis Academy Road address May 26 in reference to the theft of a spare tire cover and license decal.

Morgan County deputies set up a safety checkpoint at Mallard Ridge and Beaver Dam roads May 27. Warnings for an open container, a seat belt violation, tag light requirements not met and a minute amount of marijuana were issued. A felony arrest for possession of methamphetamine was also made.

Ronald Jack Thomas, 47, of Snellville was arrested May 27 and charged with possession of methamphetamine.

Roydrekkious Deangelos Smith, 30, was arrested May 27 on a probation violation warrant out of Morgan County. He was turned over to Morgan County deputies by the City of Monroe Police Department.

A man being sent to an Augusta mental health facility head-butted a Morgan County deputy as he was being taken into custody May 29.

A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a Buckhead address in reference to harassment complaints. The complainant told the deputy his ex-girlfriend had entered his residence without his permission and was harassing him on Facebook.

Rocio Cazares, 44, of Palmetto was arrested May 28 and charged with DUI, open container, expired license and failure to maintain lane.

Jonathan Swearingen, 30, of Madison was arrested May 29 on a probation violation warrant.

Arthur Paredes Medina, 19, of Eatonton was arrested May 30 and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding (70 mph in a 45-mph zone).

MADISON POLICE DEPARTMENT

A Madison police officer was dispatched to the Days Inn on Eatonton Road May 26 in reference to a theft complaint. The complainant said a female he had given a ride took $80 from him. The female said it was only $40 and that she used it to buy cleaning supplies at the complainant’s request. According to the report, law enforcement has responded to at least seven incidents between the two since January. A pre-warrant hearing has been requested.

A Madison police officer was dispatched to an Eatonton Road address May 25 in reference to kids throwing firecrackers into a man’s car. The complainant said teenagers threw firecrackers into his car and he asked the police officer to put out the fire they started inside the car. Officer Andy Koth extinguished the fire with assistance from fireman Kenny Griffin. Video footage did not show any teenagers in the area.

A Madison police officer was sent to the Red Roof Inn Eatonton Road May 7 in reference to a possible drug overdose. The officer found an unconscious female on a bed in room 225. According to the report, he skin was bluish color and she had a very faint pulse. The officer administered Narcan to the female. EMS arrived, and the female was conscious and alert when she was taken to the hospital. A witness said she may have overdosed on heroin. Another female was found later that same day at the Days Inn in similar shape. She had to be administered two doses of Narcan before being taken to the hospital.

A Madison police officer was dispatched to Truist Bank May 23 in reference to account fraud. The complainant said $6,000 had been taken out of her account. She told police she suspected a computer repair company located in Madison was involved in the fraud.

A Madison police officer made contact with a local citizen May 17 concerning a fraudulent check. The complainant said he agreed to sell his F-150 to a man who sent a check for agreed upon amount. However, the bank suspected the check was fraudulent and put a hold on the check.

A Madison police officer was dispatched to Walmart May 20 in reference to a stolen purse. The complainant said someone stole her purse from a shopping cart while she was inside the store. Video surveillance footage showed a male take the purse which contained cards and $105 in cash.

A Madison police officer was dispatched to a Micha Way address May 22 in reference to a property damage complaint. The complainant said a window in the home had been shattered. Given the location of the window it appeared entry into the home was not attempted.

A Madison police officer met with woman May 20 concerning a fraud complaint. The complainant said a man claiming to work for Amazon called her and told her that someone had charged $350 to her Amazon account and he needed her banking information to return her money. She said she gave the man her debit card information and learned later that he had withdrawn $900 from her account at the Bank of Madison.

A Madison police officer spoke to a local resident about an attempted car theft on May 26. The complainant said he was sleeping in his car at the BP on Monticello Road when he awoke to his car shaking. He said someone was trying to break into his car. He left the scene but said the people trying to break in followed him.

A Madison police officer was dispatched to the Super 8 motel May 29 in reference to an unruly guest. A motel employee said guests were yelling and disturbing other guests and when he asked them to be quiet, they attempted to go after him. The unruly guests were asked to leave the motel.

GREENE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

David Andres Mejia, 47, of Eatonton was arrested May 26 and charged with driving without a valid license

Fredrick Dubrae Nesbit, 26, of Eatonton was arrested May 27 and charged with reckless driving, speeding (79 mph in a 55-mph zone), improper passing and driving in the median.

Rahim Jerome Brown, 27, of Augusta was arrested May 25 and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, trafficking in cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

William Casey Hymas, 43, of Watkinsville was arrested May 6 and charged with battery under the family violence statute.

GREENSBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT

On Sunday, May 22, officers responded to an accident on East Broad Street. The accident was turned over to Georgia State Patrol.

On Sunday, May 22, officers responded to the area West Richland Avenue in reference to a dog at large. The incident was turned over to animal control.

On Monday, May 23, officers arrested De’Andre Laquez McLendon, 22, of Eatonton on a warrant for deposit account fraud.

On Wednesday, May 25, officers responded to the area of Town Creek Blvd. in response to an alarm activation. All windows and doors were secured.

On Wednesday, May 25, officers responded to the area of West Elm Street in reference to two small children walking down the street alone. The incident was turned over to DFACS.

On Wednesday, May 25, officers responded to the area of Gordon Street in response to a citizen’s complaint. The complainant stated that someone has been coming on to her property feeding her cats without her permission. A criminal trespassing warning was issued to Lane Mark Jackson, 63, of Greensboro for the property of 103 Gordon Street, Greensboro.

On Wednesday, May 25, officers arrested Porter Maurice Lawrence, 35, of Greensboro on a warrant out Covington.

On Wednesday, May 25, officers responded to Old Union Point Road in response to a verbal e dispute. After further investigation, a criminal trespassing warning was issued to Jytavous Ward, 22, of Siloam for the property of NIBCO located at 1900 Old Union Point Rd., Greensboro.

On Wednesday, May 25, officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of South Main Street in violation of no headlights on while driving. After further investigation, the driver, Juan Garcia-Temalteca, 32, of Greensboro was arrested and on charges of a headlight requirement violation, no insurance, driving without license and driving under the influence.

On Thursday, May 26, officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of East Broad Street in violation of the handsfree law. After further investigation, the driver, Demondra Pope, 31, of Greensboro was arrested on charges of the handsfree violation and driving while license suspended.

On Friday May 27, officers responded to the area of West Broad Street in response to a physical altercation. After further investigation, warrants for battery were issued for Justin Hardemon, 22, of Riverdale and Terrance McCommons, 21, of Union Point.

On Friday, May 27, Officers responded to the area of Old Eatonton Road in response to a theft by shoplifting complaint. The complainant stated that a customer left the store without paying for items. The incident was turned over to investigators.

On Saturday, May 28, officers arrested Gary T. Viola, 68, of Greensboro. Viola was transported to the Greene County LEC where he was booked on a warrant out of Putnam County.

On Saturday, May 28, officers responded to the area of Gordon Street in reference to a citizen’s complaint. The complainant stated that an individual was attempting to feed her cats without her permission. The individual was advised to stay away from the complainant’s pets.

On Saturday, May 28, officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of East Broad Street in violation of the handsfree law. After further investigation, the driver, Marion Leroy Dunbar Jr., 34, of Augusta was arrested on charges of the handsfree violation, driving under the influence of alcohol and an open container violation.

For the week of May 22-28, the Greensboro Police Department responded to six accidents, and 39 citations were issued.
