PUTNAM COUNTY
More than 100 children and their family members attended Saturday at Oconee Springs Park for the annual youth rally hosted by Mothers Against Crime (MAC), a longtime Putnam County organization focused on providing positive experiences for local youth.
The event featured inflatable water-based attractions, swimming, games, and a free lunch, all provided at no cost to attendees. MAC founder Georgia Benjamin-Smith said families traveled from all over Putnam County and neighboring communities to participate in the daylong outing.
Benjamin-Smith added the organization has hosted youth activities for decades and has held its annual gathering at Oconee Springs Park for more than 10 years.
