One woman fled on foot, and another drove away from a traffic stop. Still, Madison police officers and Morgan County deputies ultimately apprehended both following an incident near downtown Madison on June 10.
Brianna Latrice Perryman, 25, of Madison, and Dymin Alera Lockhart, 25, of Stockbridge, were both charged with fleeing or attempting to elude and obstruction.
According to reports obtained from the Madison Police Department, Officer Darby Dulaney conducted a traffic stop on a black Infiniti near the intersection of Foster and Maxey streets after confirming that Perryman, the vehicle's registered owner, was wanted on a probation violation warrant.
Dulaney informed Perryman that a warrant had been issued for her arrest and asked her to exit the vehicle. Once she did, Perryman allegedly attempted to flee. Dulaney was able to grab her shirt, but Perryman turned around and resisted, according to the report. Dulaney then placed Perryman in a head restraint in an effort to gain control.
Lockhart exited the vehicle and approached the two while yelling for Perryman to stop resisting. Dulaney ordered Lockhart to return to the vehicle, but she refused.
As Dulaney attempted to handcuff Perryman, she broke free and ran west on Foster Street. Lockhart then got back into the Infiniti and drove west on Foster Street as well.
Several deputies and officers soon arrived on the scene, and Lockhart was quickly taken into custody by Sgt. Andre Johnson.
Deputies, including Christopher Detweiler and his K-9 partner Dino, along with Sgt. Chad Lanier, established a perimeter to contain Perryman.
She was located shortly thereafter and arrested.
Both Perryman and Lockhart were transported to the Morgan County Jail.
A search of the vehicle later resulted in the discovery of what appeared to be a container of synthetic urine.
