More info: This annual event consists of two main events: Plein Air Painting Workshops and a Paint Out Contest with cash prizes. Artists must be 18 years of age or older. Registration for the Paint Out is $20. Please be sure to read the full rules and regulations. Artists must begin painting at or after 1 p.m. the day of the event and submit the painting to event organizers by 5 p.m. Artists should paint outdoors within one mile of the registration location at The Artisans Village Art Gallery. More Info: David Drake was an enslaved Black potter in South Carolina who produced stoneware jugs inscribed with original poetry in a time when this knowledge was a punishable offense. A second gallery installation features ceramic work by contemporary artist Zipporah Camille Thompson of Atlanta. Her work fuses old and new, referencing ancient cultures and millennial predilections.
