Conner Michael Strickland of the Liberty Community in White Plains, GA, died in a tragic accident in Athens, GA on Saturday, April 16, 2022. He was 20 years old.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 25, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church South Campus, 4741 Carey Station Road, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Bruce Lovin officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Nathan Davenport, Ethan Cole Cooper, Jackson Cown, Will Clack, Spencer Foster, John Fowler, Clayton Hinspeter and Blake Mills.

Conner was born on Nov. 26, 2001, in Athens, Georgia to Michael David Strickland and Rynee Parker Strickland. Growing up in Greene County, he and his older brother, Hayden, enjoyed fishing, four-wheeling, and spending time on Lake Oconee with their family and friends. Over the years, Conner played on recreational baseball and football teams and was never one to shy away from the challenge of trying a new sport like basketball or golf. His determination and hard work was evident in everything he did from working with his dad to the effort he put into his academics. Conner attended Lake Oconee Academy and was a member of LOA’s graduating class of 2020. His teachers at LOA took note of his intelligence, natural leadership abilities, quick wit, and his knack for uplifting everyone around him. Conner went on to study at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business, and he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Conner touched the lives of so many during his short life. He had a way of connecting with people with his big personality and his even bigger smile. To know him was to love him, and he loved you too. He never met a stranger, and his circle of friends grew by the day. Conner had such a love for life. He enjoyed every moment and sang every song. His joy was infectious and he spread it to all those around him with his friendly, easygoing attitude and a little air guitar when needed.

Conner is survived by his parents, Michael and Rynee Strickland of White Plains, Georgia; brother, Hayden Strickland; maternal grandparents, Ginny Rozier (Mike) and Joe Parker; paternal grandparents, David and Joyce Strickland; his uncles and aunts, Kevin Strickland (Stacey), Dana Strickland Hayes (Billy Joe), Allison Parker Laux (Dusty), and Joely Parker Nicholson (Matt); a number of cousins; other relatives, and many friends.
