Georgia Writers Museum is inviting local writers to submit a story, scene, poem, or essay of no more than 300 words — shorter works are welcome and encouraged — for local visual artists from The Artisans Village to use as inspiration for original artwork.
Accepted submissions will be featured in a new exhibit titled “Paint Between the Lines,” a collaboration between GWM and The Artisans Village. Each written piece, paired with the artwork it inspires, will debut side by side at an opening reception Aug. 6 at The Artisans Village.
“We are excited to bring a unique opportunity to blend two artistic mediums to create something very special,” GWM President Lou Benjamin said.
Submissions are open to all writers, with no requirement for prior publication or professional experience. Writers of any genre and skill level are encouraged to participate.
The only restrictions are that writers must be at least 16 years old, all submissions must be original work (no AI-generated content), and entries may not include gratuitous violence, sexual content, or overtly one-sided political or religious messaging.
