The Morgan County football team is coming off a successful season, finishing 2025 with a 12-1 record.
The Dogs won a regional title and returned to the quarterfinals of the playoffs for a second straight year. They also racked up numerous postseason awards, with more than a dozen players named to the All-Region team.
“Really proud of all our guys on the All-Region team,” Morgan County head coach Clint Jenkins said.
The Dogs won three individual awards, highlighted by senior running back Christian Monfort sharing the Region Co-Player of the Year honor with Callaway offensive/ defensive lineman Tyrone Fitten. Montfort, a West Georgia signee, rushed for 1,811 yards on 238 carries (7.6 yards per attempt) and 36 touchdowns in 2025.
Morgan County senior quarterback Davis Strickland was named the Region Offensive Player of the Year. Strickland, also a West Georgia signee, completed 69% of passes for 2,591 yards and 32 touchdowns this season.
Finally, the last individual award went to wide receiver/defensive back Ty Tillery, who was named Region Athlete of the Year. He caught 52 passes for 963 yards and 13 touchdowns on offense, while totaling over 43 tackles, three interceptions, and six pass deflections on defense. Tillery recently signed to play baseball at Auburn.
Jenkins was also named the Region 2-2A Coach of the Year.
Morgan County’s players named to the All-Region offense were tight end Drew Ainslie, along with offensive linemen Jamari Mundy, Cooper Pittman, and long snapper Brody Jenkins, an Army signee, who was also a first-team defensive selection as a linebacker. Other Dogs named to the first-team defense were linebacker Jordan Gordon, defensive lineman Raj Singh, plus defensive backs Zeki Locus and Makai Owens.
Six other Morgan County players were also named to the All-Region 2-2A honorable mention list.
Wide receivers Wyatt Singleton and Cole Wesley, along with offensive linemen Drew Breda and Harrison Mitchell, linebacker Braxton Jones, and defensive back Cad Braswell earned honorable mention for the Dogs.
“It was all very well deserved after the year we had,” Morgan County’s head coach acknowledged. “I think it’s the third year in a row we have had 10-plus players on this team and multiple player of the year awards.”
