New space energizes promotional entrepreneurs

GREENE COUNTY

After more than a decade of building separate, successful businesses in the Lake Oconee area, two local entrepreneurs — Jackie Greer of Greer Force Marketing and Rachel Beeker of Silver Lining Promos — have taken a bold next step together.

The pair celebrated a move into a new shared office space last Thursday at 1001 Village Park Dr., Unit 108, Greensboro. The collaboration marks not only growth, but also companies working together to benefit other businesses in Lake Country.

Greer launched Greer Force Marketing in 2011 from a single executive office suite near Café 44.

“It was just me, myself, and I,” she recalled with a laugh. Over the years, her marketing firm has grown from that one-woman operation into a thriving agency of seven. “We feel like the future is bright for us, and for our clients here. There’s so much growth, and we’re excited to be a part of it.”

Sharing in that excitement is Beeker, owner of Silver Lining Promos, which now occupies the new space alongside Greer.

“Our businesses naturally complement each other,” Beeker explained. “They’re more on the digital marketing and advertising side, and we’re on the hard-goods side, the products. We don’t do the same thing, but our clients often need both services.”

Beeker founded Silver Lining Promos 11 years ago and has since built a national client base while remaining rooted in the Lake Oconee community.

“We can do anything you can put a logo on: hats, t-shirts, koozies, pins, mugs,” she explained. “We work with businesses, schools, charities, banks, real estate; really, anyone who wants to get their brand out there.”

Greer proudly pointed out her 14 years in business during the event. She told more than 50 people who shared in the excitement that she “really wanted to show our appreciation for the community and for our amazing clients that we’ve had over the years. This is to celebrate what is, as well as what’s still to come.”

Similarly, Beeker said she takes great pride in paying attention to details when working with clients, whether around the corner or across the country. She stressed that she and her staff aim to be a one-stop shop for promotional items.

“Working with us versus ordering something online, you’re going to get customer service, samples, mockups, someone to track your order, and really good presentation,” she said. “You’ll also get product ideas and personal attention that websites just can’t offer.”

Like Greer, Beeker has built a strong team — in her case, six women.

“We didn’t mean for that to happen, but it’s worked out well,” she said with a smile.

The synergy between Greer Force and Silver Lining Promos has already sparked new ideas and collaborations.

“Our clients need t-shirts and promotional products, but they also need marketing strategies and to build brand awareness, so yes, we do share a lot of the same clients or introduce each other to new ones,” Beeker said.

For both women, sharing space is less about convenience and more about community.

“We feel settled here,” Greer said. “We love the space. It’s open, it’s bright, and it feels like home. I don’t want to move again anytime soon.”

According to Greer, the close relationship between Greer Force Marketing and Silver Lining Promos reflects what’s special about doing business in Lake Oconee: local roots, national reach, and an entrepreneurial spirit that’s grounded in relationships.

“It’s all about growing together,” she said. “Watching our clients succeed as we do, that’s the most rewarding part.”
