Town Walk site amendment approved

The Madison City Council awarded a contract to low bidder Garrett Paving Company for resurfacing of local streets and associated repairs during the regular meeting held on Jan. 8. The city will pay the paving company an amount not to exceed $427,366.

Is 2024 pivotal year for Greensboro?

The first meeting of 2024 for the Greensboro City Council lasted five minutes Tuesday night. The only real business was the approval of a beer and wine license for the Feb. 8 Jazz Legacy Project at Festival Hall. Councilmembers also set a timetable for developing the 2025 city budget.

State threatens to close personal care home

Representatives of the Savannah Court personal care home on Willow Drive in Greensboro and the Georgia Department of Community Health were in Greene County court Wednesday. Savannah Court at Lake Oconee, a 72-bed facility, received a Notice of Intent to Revoke Permit from the state agency on Aug.

Rivian complaint dismissed

A group of Morgan County citizens who filed a lawsuit challenging the zoning for the Rivian electric vehicle manufacturing plant had their case dismissed in Superior Court Tuesday. The case brought by Edward Clay, Candace Beam, Alan D.

Thieves hit Rutledge businesses to start new year

The BP station and the Rutledge Liquor Store on Atlanta Highway in Rutledge were burglarized during the early morning hours of Jan. 2, according to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office. According to reports, the complainant, who was the clerk at the liquor store had arrived at 5 a.m.
