Illegal alien convicted of murder sentenced to life

A man later determined to be an illegal alien from Mexico received a life sentence without the possibility of parole in Greene County Superior Court on Nov. 17 for the murder of a co-worker, according to the Ocmulgee District Attorney’s Office.

LOPC’s Sheds of Hope celebrates 200th build

Sheds of Hope is a disaster relief ministry by Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church (LOPC) that provides and constructs dry storage sheds for families impacted by natural disasters. The volunteer-based group started in 2017 and on Nov. 12 commemorated building its 200th shed.
