Traffic shift for 441 widening to start Thursday

Georgia DOT contractor E.R. Snell plans to shift traffic for three miles through the ongoing widening of U.S. Highway 441 in Morgan County beginning Thursday, April 21. The shift starts where 441 intersects with Ponder Pines Road and lasts until just north of Maddox Road.

Vehicle fire snarls traffic for hours on I-20

According to Greene County Fire and Rescue, westbound traffic was snarled for hours on I-20 on the night of April 18 due to a vehicle fire with hazardous material involved. The incident occurred near milepost 139. Fire crews arrived at 7:54 p.m. and began working to contain the fire.
