Georgia DOT contractor E.R. Snell plans to shift traffic for three miles through the ongoing widening of U.S. Highway 441 in Morgan County beginning Thursday, April 21.
The shift starts where 441 intersects with Ponder Pines Road and lasts until just north of Maddox Road. This will allow crews to construct stage two of the planned work along this portion of the project. Drivers should follow the posted signage and watch out for workers as well as their equipment when traveling through the area.
The full eight-mile project spans from the Morgan-Putnam County line to south of I-20 in Madison. The widening from two to four lanes is scheduled for March 2024 completion, and is nearing the halfway point in terms of progress.
