Law enforcement preparing for active shooter situations

With Putnam County students returning to school in about two weeks, local law enforcement officers underwent training Monday to learn more about school shootings, the type of person who might be a school shooter and to tour each of the county’s public schools and discuss their operational response.

City council passes resolution on Jimmy Davis Park

The Eatonton City Council Monday night took action on the future of Jimmy Davis Park.
Following a closed executive session on “property acquisition,” the body voted unanimously to allow Mayor John Reid to sign a resolution relating to the rundown recreation facility in southeast Eatonton.
