A popular Madison eatery is temporarily closed following a kitchen fire that occurred Nov. 1, according to a report.  Ricardo’s Kouzzina on West Washington Street in the old Ice House building sustained damage to floors and kitchen equipment after a gas hose caught fire.

Nearly half of Greene County voters have already cast ballots

As of Monday, Oct. 31, and only one week of early voting left before Election Day, the Greene County Board of Elections and Registration has already seen 4,975 voters at come to the polls with another 509 mailed ballots for a total of 5,484 ballots cast or 37.4% of Greene County’s registered voters.

Hunter dies after fall from tree stand near Buckhead

A Stockbridge man was killed Saturday morning, apparently from falling from his tree stand while deer hunting, Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills said. Glenn Lamar Coker, 45, was hunting off Hickory Lane in northeast Putnam County.

A prominent Eatonton businessman and veterans advocate was arrested last week on various racketeering and fraud charges, with theft amounts totaling more than $48,000, according to Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills.
