The Madison Police Department is investigating a case in which an Alabama woman allegedly used counterfeit money to purchase almost $10,000 in merchandise from several Beall’s department store locations.
According to reports, a woman identified as Alizay Montero Keys, 25, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., entered the Madison Beall’s location and on four separate occasions (Aug. 1, 2024, Jan. 31, 2025, June 2, 2025, and Sept. 8, 2025) and used counterfeit $100 bills to pay for items.
A representative of the Beall’s store said Keys had taken $400 from the Madison store, but Keys has also been to numerous locations where she stole $9,750 since May 3, 2024.
Keys was identified due to her participation in the Beall’s Loyalty Program.
Beall’s provided the MPD with a flash drive containing photos of Keys, counterfeit notes, and documents from previous Beall’s transactions.
