Wanted man nabbed with plethora of drugs

GREENE COUNTY

A man wanted by four law enforcement agencies in Georgia on charges ranging from kidnapping to rape was arrested by Greensboro police officers Nov. 1, according to Chief Rodricus Monford.

Officers responded to a residence on East Broad Street in reference to a verbal dispute and met with a juvenile complainant who said there was an individual nearby that was not welcome in their house. The complainant also told police the individual had active warrants for his arrest.

Officers made contact with the mother of the complainant who said the individual in question was sitting in a vehicle parked on the property.

Officers made contact with the individual, who was identified as Andres Resendiz Hernandez, 23, of Johns Creek.

Hernandez was asked to step out of the vehicle while officers validated any possible warrants. While handcuffing Hernandez, officers could see drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle, according to the GPD.

Greene County dispatch then confirmed Hernandez had warrants for kidnapping, aggravated assault, armed robbery, family violence/ simple battery, cruelty to children and rape out of Alpharetta and Milton, as well as Forsyth and Fulton counties.

Officers conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and found multiple baggies of crystal meth between the driver's seat and the center console. Another bag was located on the floorboard on the passenger side containing multiple bags of cocaine, along with more drug paraphernalia.

As the search continued, police found more contraband in the trunk behind the factory paneling, including a blue cooler that contained two water bottles: one with approximately 16.9 ounces of liquid methamphetamine and the other with an undisclosed amount. Officers also located a statue associated with a Mexican drug cartel.

Hernandez was transported to the Greene County jail where he was booked on the charges of trafficking methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug-related objects.

Hernandez was also served his warrants.
