Morgan County High School and Greene County High School recently hosted Homecoming games this past Friday.
During halftime of each football game, each school introduced its Homecoming courts. The schools also named their kings and queens, which were voted on by the students at both Morgan County and Greene County..
Greene County High School named senior Amauria West its 2023 Homecoming queen. West was greeted by last year’s winner Sariah Armour, who played basketball for the Lady Tigers with West the past few seasons. Greene County also named senior Jessie Porter its Homecoming king alongside West.
Morgan County High School named senior Mary Cate Strickland its 2023 Homecoming queen. She is the brother of quarterback Davis Strickland. She was handed her crown by last year’s winner Sommer Richard. Morgan County also named its Homecoming king in Camarion Ward on Saturday night at the dance.
Greene County ended up winning its game against Towns County 47-0, advancing to 6-0 on the 2023 season. Morgan County also easily defeated the Academy of Richmond County, moving to 5-1 on the year.
Last week was also filled with fun as each school hosted themed dress-up days and held parades in both Greensboro and Madison. The festivities then concluded on Saturday night as each school hosted fun dances.
